3D Animated ‘Night of the Living Dead’ Coming
Horror is sorely unrepresented in the craft of animated films, so we’re excited to learn that zombies will finally be given the 3D-CGI animated treatment in Zebediah De Soto’s Night of the Living Dead: Origins, reports THR. Now in the works, the film will be a re-envisioning of George Romero’s original movie and is being produced by Simon West and Jim Polhemus. The filmmakers have started by assembling an exciting voice cast including Danielle Harris (Halloween remake), Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects), Joe Pilato (Romero’s Day of the Dead), Jesse Corti (Heroes), Alona Tall (Supernatural), and Cornell Womack. New Golden Digital Effects will handle the animation. De Soto is quoted as approaching the project as a “living Monet [painting]; it’s expressionism … on an epic scale.” If he can pull it off, this will be one animated horror movie to watch.
