DVD Day: ‘Zodiac,’ ‘White Noise 2,’ ‘Boogeyman 2′

There’s a few releases of interest for the first time in a while this week. First up we have a couple of sequels, Boogeyman 2 and White Noise 2: The Light. Both of the originals were awful, so I guess the sequels can’t be much worse. Additionally, Sunshine, the futuristic sci-fi/thriller from Alex Garland and Danny Boyle, the writer/director combo behind 28 Days Later, hits shelves. Zodiac, last year’s impressive drama/thriller, is getting re-released as a two-disc director’s cut. You can read our review of the theatrical release here. A few other films that didn’t make it to theaters also look interesting: Joshua, about an eccentric boy who turns sinister when a newborn sister comes along; Day of Darkness, another post-apocalyptic zombie flick; and Trailer Trash, a 2-disc compilation of over five hours of wild B-movie trailers.

just a little heads up, sunshine was in theaters. :P
My bad! I wrote the prelude before adding in Sunshine. Missed it on the big screen though; was it any good?
‘Sunshine’ is very much worth the rent. It’s a striking sci-fi thriller. Yes, it is flawed, but it’s still head and shoulders on top of most of the stuff released last year.
‘Zodiac’ was very likely one of the best films of 2007, so that’s also worth the pick up. Finally, I should watch ‘Joshua’.
i totally agree that sunshine is worth watching but i’m still undecided on wether or not i really really liked it. don’t get me wrong, it was good, but it had a few things that just bothered me. with that sad, i would still watch it again on the small screen.
